Privacy Policy
This policy explains what information is collected when you visit fullcourtbuckets.com ("Full Court Buckets", "we", "us"), how it is used, and the choices you have. Full Court Buckets is an independent basketball news, analysis and player profile site. We do not offer user accounts, comments, purchases or newsletters, so we do not ask you to give us your name, address or payment details.
Information we collect
Information you send us. If you email us, we receive your email address and whatever you choose to include in your message. We use it only to reply and keep a record of the conversation.
Information collected automatically. When you visit, our hosting provider, analytics provider and advertising partners may automatically receive technical information such as your IP address, browser and device type, operating system, referring page, pages viewed, time spent on pages, approximate location derived from your IP address, and cookie or device identifiers.
Cookies and similar technologies
Cookies are small text files stored by your browser. We and our partners also use similar technologies such as local storage, pixels and web beacons. They are used to keep the site working, measure traffic, remember your privacy choices, and show and measure ads. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings. Some features, including your saved privacy choices, may not work if you block all cookies.
Analytics (Google Analytics 4)
We use Google Analytics 4 to understand how readers use the site, such as which stories are read and how visitors arrive. Google Analytics sets cookies (for example, names beginning with _ga) and collects the technical information described above. We do not use it to identify you personally. You can learn more at How Google uses information from sites or apps that use our services, and you can opt out with the Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on.
Advertising (Google AdSense)
We use Google AdSense to show ads. Please note:
- Third party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on a user's prior visits to this website or other websites.
- Google's use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads to you based on your visit to this site and/or other sites on the Internet.
- You may opt out of personalized advertising by visiting Google Ads Settings. You can also opt out of some third party vendors' use of cookies for personalized advertising by visiting www.aboutads.info (in the European Union, www.youronlinechoices.eu).
Third party vendors and ad networks. In addition to Google, other third party vendors and ad networks certified by Google may serve ads on this site through AdSense and may set and read their own cookies, use web beacons, or collect IP addresses and device identifiers as a result of ad serving. A list of the ad technology providers Google works with is available in Google's ad technology providers list. Where a vendor offers it, you can opt out of that vendor's use of cookies for personalized advertising on its website, or for many vendors at once through www.aboutads.info and the Network Advertising Initiative opt-out page.
Personalized and non-personalized ads. Personalized ads are selected using information such as your past browsing activity. Non-personalized ads are selected using context, such as the page you are reading and your general location (for example, city level), and not your past behavior. Non-personalized ads still use cookies or similar technologies for frequency capping, aggregated reporting and fraud prevention. If you opt out of personalized ads, or do not consent to them where consent is required, you may still see non-personalized ads.
For more detail on how Google uses data, see How Google uses information from sites or apps that use our services and How Google uses cookies in advertising.
Visitors in the European Economic Area, the UK and Switzerland
If you visit from the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom or Switzerland, we ask for your consent before cookies or similar technologies are used for purposes that require consent, including personalized advertising, using a consent message provided by Google, a Google-certified consent management platform. The message lists the partners that may process your data and the purposes involved. Your choices are recorded so they can be respected.
You can review or withdraw your consent at any time using the Privacy and cookie settings link in the footer of every page. Withdrawing consent does not affect processing that happened before you withdrew it.
Where these laws apply, our legal bases are your consent (for non-essential cookies and personalized ads) and our legitimate interest in running, securing and understanding the use of the site. You have the right to access, correct, delete, restrict or object to processing of your personal data, the right to data portability, and the right to complain to your local data protection authority. To exercise these rights, contact us using the email address below.
Your US state privacy rights, including "Do Not Sell or Share"
Residents of California and other US states with consumer privacy laws (such as Colorado, Connecticut, Virginia, Utah, Texas, Oregon and others) have rights over their personal information. Depending on your state, these may include the right to know what personal information is collected, to access it, to correct it, to delete it, and to opt out of the "sale" or "sharing" of personal information or its use for targeted (cross-context behavioral) advertising. We will not discriminate against you for using these rights.
We do not sell personal information for money. However, allowing advertising partners such as Google to collect cookie and device identifiers for personalized advertising may be considered a "sale" or "sharing" under some state laws. The categories involved are identifiers (such as IP address and cookie IDs) and internet activity (such as pages viewed), disclosed to advertising and analytics partners for the purposes described above.
How to opt out:
- Use the Do not sell or share my personal information link in the footer. Where Google's US state privacy message is available for your location, it will let you record your opt-out for this site.
- Turn on a Global Privacy Control signal in your browser or extension where supported.
- Turn off personalized ads in Google Ads Settings and use www.aboutads.info.
- Email us at hello@fullcourtbuckets.com with the subject "Privacy request". We may need to confirm your request before acting on it. You may use an authorized agent where your state law allows.
If we deny a request, you may appeal by replying to our response with the word "Appeal".
Children's privacy
This site is intended for a general audience and is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13, and we do not use information from users we know to be under 13 for personalized advertising, consistent with the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA). If you believe a child has sent us personal information, contact us and we will delete it.
How long information is kept
Emails are kept only as long as needed to respond and keep a record of the conversation. Analytics and advertising partners keep data according to their own policies. Google Analytics data for this site is kept for the retention period set in our Google Analytics settings.
Links to other sites
Our stories link to other websites, such as league and team sites and photo sources. Those sites have their own privacy practices, which we do not control.
Security
The site is served over HTTPS. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, but we limit the information we collect to reduce risk.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. The effective date at the top shows when it last changed.
